Accidents with Sheetrock happens all the time, and there is nothing we can do about it, but when it comes to how to repair drywall we certainly can tell you how to fix your own drywall, we understand that not everyone has the money to hire experts, and yet almost everybody needs this kind of services.
Ok let's say you were like upset or something, and end up hitting the wall, now you have a hole there but you do not know how to fix, a professional would charge you just too much money to fix it because they know what they do, but there is no need to call a contractor, though we would like to fix it for you and make some money, we are going to show you how to fix it for yourself.
You are going to need some tools, if you don't have them borrow them with friends or family members.
You will need a piece of Sheetrock to cover the hole, mud, drywall tape, measuring tape, keyhole saw, utility knife, a mud pan, a 6 inch drywall knife or a 5 inch could be used also, a 10 inch drywall knife, sand paper or a sanding block.
First, even off the edges, so you can have a beautiful square hole to start working on, you can use a piece of wood if you want to screw the piece of sheetrock in place.
Now you are ready to patch the hole, apply the mud properly over the area to patch where the joints are located, put the drywall tape in place with the drywall knife, apply a coat of mud over the drywall tape to cover it as evenly as possible, if you do this right, you will not need much sanding to do, wait for it to dry so you can sand it, it takes about 8 hours to a day to dry, depending on the weather.
When you are finish sanding it, wipe it down with a slightly damp cloth and you are ready to prime, paint, or texture it if applies.
